So here is a quick update about my Santiago de Com So here is a quick update about my Santiago de Compostela adventure... 🤓. You haven’t seen any recent post about it because I’ve had to stop unfortunately ☹️. Nothing bad, no need to worry (and I’m in pretty good shape considering), but a few issues came up. Difficulties finding accommodation on Couchsurfing due to a glitch on their site apparently, the weather had gone pretty bad and I was starting to run a little bit out of time to make it to Santiago before mid-December, so... Here we are... I tried & this was a very good & interesting first attempt. I really enjoyed it and will give this another go ASAP 💪🏻🙏🏻.

I went to ask a little lady who was walking around her garden just before dark. She took me in without thinking about it twice 🙏🏻. She gave me a room, meals and we had some really lovely conversations ❣️. I actually ended up staying for two nights so I could also help her with some outdoor work the next day. I loved how happy & grateful she was that I had turned up on her door step when she was feeling so lonely, but she, in fact was the one who helped me big deal by welcoming me so warmly I kept telling her! Meet Leon & Anna. A Dutch couple who are respectiv Meet Leon & Anna. A Dutch couple who are respectively 67 & 77 years old. When we met, these guys had been touring on their bicycles for ten weeks! They left home in The Netherlands, cycled down to Santiago de Compostela and cycled back up to Saintes 😅. They explained to me how they’ve pretty much been cycling absolutely everywhere for the last 10 years!! They cycle every single day - On bad days, they “only” cycle about 20 kms 🤪 and on good days they cycle 100 kms 😱. They go shopping only using their bikes, they go visit family across the country only cycling They do have a car, but never really use it. They fill up the tank about once a month 🤪. Spending the evening with them was such a blessing! Such lovely and funny people!
